In the south of Andalusia lies the sun-kissed coastal landscape Costa del Sol. It is one of the best-loved vacation regions in Spain and has the best climate in Europe. Due to the direct location on the Mediterranean Sea and the protection by the Sierra Almijara mild temperatures prevail here all year round. From May to September there are about ten hours of sunshine a day and there is hardly any rain. Perfect for a beach vacation!
In addition to countless beaches the Costa del Sol also has an interesting landscape to offer. Between green olive trees and picturesque vineyards there are many small villages and towns with narrow, winding alleys and historic places.
The Peñoncillo beach has a sandy area of 1,400 meters and is close to our accommodation. Swell and number of visitors are moderate. It's connected to Mazagarrobo beach and is easily accessible by car because it's close to the road N-340.
Thanks to fewer tourists Mazagarrobo beach is one of the quietest beaches in the region. It is a narrow beach right next to the road N-340 with few facilities and services. It borders the Peñoncillo beach and is ideal for a long walk. The beach has a length of 1,200 meters and has moderate swells.
With a short length of 150 meters the beach of Wilches is a small and secluded beach located next to the road N-340. It is a little further away from our accommodation but offers a quiet environment for those who seek peace and silence. There are usually only a few visitors here.
The beach of Calaceite has dark sand and is only 400 meters long. Its swells are moderate and it usually has only a few visitors therefore not much facilities.
This beach is one of the most popular in the area. It is 1,200 metres long and can be accessed by disabled people. Its waves are moderate and it is usually quite crowded especially during the summer months.
With numerous services at your disposal El Cenicero beach in Torrox has a medium occupation rate. It is 1,200 metres long, has dark sand and its waves are moderate.
